Systems - Database Manager

  • Duties: A growing company in Overland Park has an opening for a Manager of the Database Support team which is responsible for all aspects of their databases in a 24X7 environment. Duties include but are not limited to, database design and support of existing database platforms including Oracle 11g and MySQL databases.

    The database support team is responsible for installing database software, creating databases, applying patches, monitoring, database tuning, account maintenance, backup and recovery, application design, SQL tuning and additional functions such as documentation, business continuity planning and testing.

    Requisite Skills:

    Experience with Oracle Database administration in Linux environment as well as database design is required with a minimum of 5 years experience. A minimum 2 years IT Management experience is also required. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to multi task.

    Salary range is $75,000 - $100,000, BOE. Monday through Friday, 8-5. [go]

Firm Trainer

  • A prestigious national law firm based in Kansas City currently has an immediate opening for a firm Trainer. This individual will be based in the Kansas City office and function as a technical and soft skills trainer. Travel to the other firm offices will be required. This position will provide classroom and one-on-one training for new and existing employees on all computer applications used by the firm.

    Responsibilities:

    - Responsible for training all new hire, temporary and current employees on computer applications, telephone systems and soft skills.

    - Coordinate and schedule of all training, including brush-up and skill enhancement classes.

    - Learn new applications and assist in the development of training curriculum using various methodologies.

    - Perform requisite administrative course preparation (organize class outlines, manuals, reference sheets, etc.).

    - Able to conduct a learning need analysis and assist/develop a cohesive training strategy.

    - Implement a "university" style training program to be implemented firm-wide.

    Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of recent experience in Legal IT support and/or in a legal training capacity. Qualified candidates must possess strong communication, presentation and listening skills and possess the ability to work in a fast paced team environment. Supervisory experience preferred. A BA/BS is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. Expert knowledge of Windows XP, MS Office 2007, MS Office 2003, Hummingbird DM5. Knowledge of Carpe Diem, Legal Key, and other legal applications is a plus.
